merry christmas :)

It feels weird that it's christmas already, I think I'm used to the feeling of counting down the days to christmas, which would end up christmas just like any other day. That's why I'm not really counting down anymore since I'm already caught up in the states christmassy atmosphere. I think Jakarta should have more christmas spirit like in the states. Here, in Illinois, when you drive you could see houses decorated with christmas lights, some have little santa claus and reindeer statues in the frontyard, and in the buildings you can see christmas trees through the window. The water house building which has the John Hancock observatory (the highest building in chicago, is a point of interest where you can see the whole of chicago, and sometimes when the sky is clear, you can even see michigan.) has red and green lights at the highest level shining out, one building, even has christmas lights in the shape of a ribbon, so it looked like a rectangled shaped box which is the building, wrapped in a light of ribbon.

I went to chicago 2 days ago, in hope of christmas shopping. On the 23rd it was a breezy and cold, but the very next day was like totally windy and snowing flurries. I felt like Piglet in winnie the pooh for a moment, as the wind almost blew me as I tried crossing the road, I can't move for a moment. It was very very cold, and I only wore 2 pieces of clothing. In this state of thinking Im gonna pass out in the middle of the road, usually its my ears and nose that hurt that you can't feel them anymore. But yesterday my eyes also hurt from the overwhelming cold winds blowing my way. It's frustrating when you cant walk and you cant see either.

WELL! christmas shopping doesnt exactly sound that thrilling. I didnt get that much considering I already have 3 full luggage. And somehow american apparel is not that nice. I went to OK stores such as banana republic, express, the limited, etc, and all they have is like simple clothing and cost like $40. What does simple clothing looks like? Imagine a knee length long sleeved turtle neck sweater in basic colors such as black, white, red. I miss ZARA. I went to forever 21 and I feel like crap. I dont know why but its so messy and ugly and poorly managed clothes that I lost my feeling for christmas shopping. I just cant find anything good in there, it all looks so tacky YET lots of girls are queueing up for the changing rooms. And Victoria secret? Oh please.

I enjoyed Neiman Marcus and Saks though. I dont like Barneys that much its so small. At NM and Saks, branded bags and shoes are everywhere!!!!! It's like Metro and Sogo in Jakarta, but instead of guess, braun buffel bags and i dont know what else those copy cat looking bags brands are, and hush puppies, nine west shoes, its PRADA, MIU MIU, FENDI, BURBERRY, BOTTEGA, can you imaginee??? It's like heaven. You can touch and feel them without clerks hanging around and looking over your shoulder everytime. There's even a rack of SALE bags *shrieks* that looks like a pile of bags but, again, its PRADA MIU MIU FENDI BURBERRY BOTTEGA! I even found burberry cashmere shawls I've been looking for and they're thrice more nicer that I've ever imagined. They're only around $300. In Jakarta, they're all sold out. Not to forget the shoesss..shoes shoes shoes!! Miu2 flats, Prada's black heels, Louboutin's pumps, ON SALE! oh my. I really can stand the sight of discounted shoes and bags. I think I can just stand hours sitting and looking at them. They're are the nicest accessories. Ever.

Tomorrow saks is having 50% off from its discounted price! Can you imagine?? It's like a $2000 fendi bag is reduced to $1500 and then tomorrow its gonna be $750!! Arggg..at this moment I really wish I have the money of and old rich women that's retired.

Anyway, Merry Christmas!

All shops and restaurants are closed today, except one chinese restaurant, well what do you expect? We ate at Bo Bo China, the portions here are humongous, we only ordered 2 dishes: crunchy chicken with 3 chillies and fish with seasonal veggies and ate with rice, damn full. By the time we reached home it was 5.30, watched funny valentine and happy texas but we're too sleepy so my sis and mom is sleeping right now while I blogged. It doesn't feel like christmas at all. But who cares. I need some beauty sleep, we're going to chicago again tomorrow!! Post christmas sale, I hope. I can't wait to get my hands on prada shoes. I want boots! Mmmmm. =)
